About the Auxiliary
The Fairhope Yacht Club Auxiliary plays an important role in supporting the club and its members. Through fundraising events, hospitality efforts, and special projects, we help maintain and enhance the Yacht Club while fostering a welcoming and engaged community.
Bringing Members Together All Year Long
Throughout the year, the Auxiliary hosts events and activities that both support the Yacht Club and bring members together. One important part of what we do is caring for one another. Our Sunshine Committee reaches out to members with birthday cards and notes of encouragement during important life moments, helping maintain the close‑knit spirit of our community.
Several of our events have become much‑loved traditions at the club. Holiday on the Go is an annual market featuring local vendors and a lunch buffet, giving members a chance to shop, visit, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon together. The Chili Cook‑Off, held as part of the end‑of‑day activities for the Chili Bowl Sail, brings out friendly competition as members share their favorite chili recipes. Prizes are awarded for the top three chilis as well as a popular choice winner.
To kick off football season, the Auxiliary hosts a Football Bowl Basket Raffle filled with game‑day treats and surprises. During the holidays, members decorate the Yacht Club and create a special annual Christmas ornament that has become a cherished keepsake.
All proceeds from Auxiliary events go directly back to the Fairhope Yacht Club. Over the years, these funds have helped with projects such as purchasing new porch tables and supporting other club needs, ensuring that our efforts benefit the entire membership.
If you’re interested in getting involved, we invite you to join us at one of our meetings and see what the Auxiliary is all about. It’s a welcoming group with a shared goal of supporting the club, giving back, and enjoying time together.
FYC Auxiliary Scholarship
Each year, the Fairhope Yacht Club Auxiliary awards a $2,000 scholarship to support the educational goals of a graduating high‑school senior connected to the Fairhope Yacht Club community. This scholarship reflects the Auxiliary’s ongoing commitment to investing in our members’ families and the future of our maritime heritage.
