Youth Sailing

Our sailing program is designed for youth ages 6-18, providing a supportive environment that caters to all skill levels. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to enhance your sailing techniques and build confidence, our classes are perfect for you.

Summer Youth Camps

Fairhope Yacht Club offers exciting Summer Sailing Camps for young sailors. Our camps consist of four 2-week sessions that begin in early June and conclude in early August.

• Morning Sessions: 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
• Afternoon Sessions: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

For our younger sailors, we offer the Bay Buddies Camp during the second week of each summer session from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

Cost (as of 2024)

• Summer Sailing Camp:
  • Members: $350
  • Non-members: $400
• Bay Buddies:
  • Members: $170
  • Non-members: $200

Dinghy Races

Dinghy races are open to all boats 19 feet and under, and are suitable for both youth and adults. Organized by Holly Murry, these races provide a fun and competitive platform for sailors.

• Registration Fee: $20 per series
• Club-owned boats must be reserved through Holly Murry.

High-School Racing

High-school teams participate in races using FYC-owned 420s. We host two major regattas annually, one in the spring and one in the fall. These events provide high-school sailors with the opportunity to develop their skills and compete at a higher level.

Capdevielle Racing

Sponsored by the Gulf Yachting Association, Capdevielle Regattas are a series of events taking place at various locations along the Gulf coast. Fairhope Yacht Club proudly owns two Viper 640s, and we invite experienced youth sailors to participate in these regattas.
