Auxiliary Scholarship Guidelines – 2026
Scholarship Award: $2,000
Award Date: April 2026
Eligibility
To qualify, an applicant must be:
- A high school senior
- The child, grandchild, or great‑grandchild of a Fairhope Yacht Club member or an employee of the Fairhope Yacht Club
Scholarship Disbursement
- Funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s accredited college, vocational school, or military support program.
- The check will be issued in the student’s name along with their identification number.
Application Submission
- Deadline: Thursday, April 24, 2026, by 4:30 PM
- Location: Fairhope Yacht Club office
- Submission: Application must be placed in the provided envelope and delivered to the FYC office or submitted online.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Proof of Acceptance
- Acceptance letter from an accredited college, vocational school, or military institute.
- Official High School Transcript
- Must include GPA.
- Standardized Test Scores
- ACT or SAT score report.
- Letter of Recommendation
- From a teacher or guidance counselor.
- Resume
- Outline of extracurricular activities for school, work, and/or community.
- Essay Requirements
- Typed, double‑spaced, 500–700 words.
- Topic:
“From the age of wooden sustainable vessels, the maritime community has always been the primary guardian of our shoreline. As we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States, reflect on the intersection of maritime history and environmental conservation.
In your essay, describe how your college or career aspirations will uphold the responsibility of maintaining our valuable waterways as a vibrant, healthy resource for future generations.” - Guidelines:
- Essay must be an engaging, non‑fiction account of your thoughts and experience.
- Must be written in your own words — no plagiarism or AI‑generated content.
